Facebook donation drive

We'll be wrapping up our Facebook "like" drive for the Lake Travis Thrift Shop this weekend! So far we've raised $125 to donate to their Small Miracles Fund. The Lake Travis Thrift Shop does so much for the people of Lake Travis, especially those in need. We wanted to show our appreciation by committing to raise money to help them. We used Facebook and had friends and patients "like" our Facebook Page. For each new "like" we donated $1 towards this great local charity! We've also tried to help them periodically through the Bee Caves Rotary Club and donating toothbrushes and toothpaste along with other Dentists.

Dr Patel was one of the many sponsors for today's Lake Pointe Elementary Carnival. The PTO did an amazing job of organizing a fun and fabulous carnival! Implant Sedation Dentistry and Lady Gaga

Just saw the Lady Gaga Monster Ball show this past Friday in Dallas, Tx. What an awesome show! Lady Gaga is extremely talented and put on an absolutely amazing concert! The music, the outfits, and the energy were all phenomenal! On one part of the stage, in bright neon lights it says, "Implants Sedation Dentistry." How cool is that! As an Austin and Lakeway Dentist, it was pretty cool and exciting to see that sign as part of the set and stage!

Lakeway Dentist and Austin Dentist volunteers at HVAC Clinic

Local Austin Dentist and Lakeway Dentist, Dr Tejas Patel volunteered at the HVAC free medical and dental clinic again this evening. The clinic is open Wednesday nights and offers medical and dental care to those without insurance and of low income. The clinic is supported by over a hundred volunteers and through generous donations from the community. Dr Tejas Patel practices Family and Cosmetic Dentistry in Lakeway and serves clients from all over Austin as well.

Lakeway Dentist Volunteers at Local HVAC Dental Clinic

Local Lakeway Dentist volunteered at the HVAC (Healthcare Volunteer Associates Clinic) here in Lakeway this week. The HVAC clinic provides healthcare and dental care to those in the community who have no access to basic medical and dental treatment. The Clinic is located in Lakeway Plaza and serves many individuals from Lakeway and surrounding communities that have no health insurance or medical assistance and are from lower income households and just don't have the means to get the proper health care treatment they need. The staff of the HVAC clinic are exclusively voluntary, with the staff including dentists, physicians, nurses, medical assistants and more. All treatments and services provided as well as medications are complimentary. If you'd like to learn more about volunteering contact 512-263-0265. The clinic is open Wednesday evenings. Dr Patel was able to see many patients on his last visit to the clinic and provided voluntary dental services to those in need. Dr Patel says, "I'm excited to be a part of this great clinic! I think it's so amazing that we have this clinic right here in our community and that through donations and volunteer efforts this clinic goes above and beyond to help those in need."

Lakeway Dentist off to Peru in March for Dental Mission Trip

Local Lakeway Dentist, Dr. Tejas Patel has joined Kindess In Action for an upcoming Dental Mission Trip this March 2010. Kindess In Action is a Canadian based non-profit that provides dental care for underserved areas in third world countries. They have completed trips and provided dental care for people in Central and South America as well as the Phillipines. Dr. Tejas Patel will be 1 of 3 Dentists traveling to Peru as well as a team of 20 others (including Dental Assistants, Dental Hygienist and volunteers). Dr. Patel is the only one from the United States on the trip. All of the other team members are from Canada. The team will set up a dental clinic outside of Cusco, Peru in the Sacred Valley. They will be able to perform exams, teeth extractions, fillings and cleanings. They will also focus on prevention and oral health education for school children. In the 4 days that the clinic is open, the team will get to provide dental care for up to 500 people. All of these people who will be treated have no access to dental care.
