New Dental Products to help with flossing

Here are 2 new products we're excited about:

1.Flossed Today Floss Reminder App for the iPhone--go to i tunes and download the app, it'll send daily reminders to your iPhone letting you know to floss! That's pretty cool!

2. Sonicare Air Floss

It works with a burst of water and air to clean between teeth! Will it replace flossing? We're not sure yet, but we're really excited to give it a try and see for ourselves!

Facebook donation drive

We'll be wrapping up our Facebook "like" drive for the Lake Travis Thrift Shop this weekend! So far we've raised $125 to donate to their Small Miracles Fund. The Lake Travis Thrift Shop does so much for the people of Lake Travis, especially those in need. We wanted to show our appreciation by committing to raise money to help them. We used Facebook and had friends and patients "like" our Facebook Page. For each new "like" we donated $1 towards this great local charity! We've also tried to help them periodically through the Bee Caves Rotary Club and donating toothbrushes and toothpaste along with other Dentists.

Bites of Bee Caves-- Coming Soon!

The Bites of Bee Caves are coming soon to the Bee Cave and Lake Travis Area. This annual event is going to showcase many great local restaurants! The Bee Caves Rotary Club is hosting this event to benefit the following charities: Kids in Crisis, Helping Hands of Spicewood and the Lake Travis Crisis Ministries. The event will be on October 1, 2011 and besides fantastic food will feature a kids zone, petting zoo, live music, and more! Local Dentist Dr Tejas Patel is a member of the Bee Caves Rotary and is helping with the event. Dr Patel maintains a Dental Practice that serves patients from all over Austin, particularly Bee Caves and Lakeway.

Lakeway Dentists help fund Scholarship

Laser Dentistry and Laser Periodontal Treatment

We're excited to announce that our Dental Hygienist is now certified to perform Laser Periodontal and other treatments. In our Austin & Lakeway Dental office we've been using a soft tissue laser to perform various procedures like laser gum contouring for gummy smiles, cosmetic gum procedures, and frenectomy procedures for braces/orthodontic treatment. Now we're offering laser treatment for the following:
•Treating of Aphtous Ulcers and Herpetic Lesions
•Reducing bacteria associated with gum disease and helping sterilize the gum pockets after periodontal treatment
The laser helps get rid of the bacteria that causes gum disease so it helps with better healing and better results of our gum/ periodontal treatments. For fever blisters or ulcers it helps speed up the healing time and helps reduce the irritation.
For gum treatments it also helps prevent post operative soreness and bleeding.
